Pat Owens is a singer, songwriter and entertainer from Baltimore, Maryland. His
experience with music dates back to his childhood. He began singing with
his church's choir at age 6, moved to their contemporary
music program at age 13 and later became a member of The Modern Music Masters National
Society at Glen Burnie High School.
At age 21 he began performing on a full-time basis and
has since played at countless bars, restaurants, weddings, festivals
and private parties. He has shared the stage with Baltimore-based
acts such as Never Never, The Kelly Bell Band and Without Reason.
Now at age 32, Pat currently splits his time between a
variety of projects. He still performs as a solo
acoustic guitarist, but he also plays in an acoustic duo called
The Solution (with latin percussionist Mike Needer). Typical shows
consist of a balance between modern and classic rock favorites as well as
Pat's original works.
In addition, Pat teams up with guitarist Rod Sebastian and percussionist
Mike Needer for the party power trio Client 9.
The 3 combine for over 50 years of musical experience and share a
catalog of over 500 songs to choose from.
Pat is currently the bassist and background vocalist for the 5-piece, powerfolk project
The Steve Pomplon Band. Their new CD, 9:31,
was released September 2009 and is available now.
Pat's musical resume also includes his role as a lead vocalist in
the rock-trio Old School.
With the popular resurgence of 80's music performed live by bands in
the Baltimore area, Old School decided to jump the gun and pioneer
the idea of a band dedicated entirely to the 90's genre. The
group blends guitars, vocals and intense percussion to create
an energetic twist on early 90's rock.
Pat also performs with guitarist Chris Wittman. The
acoustic-guitar duo plays a small number of originals and many popular cover songs, often giving
them a musical "makeover" by performing them in contemporary jazz and alternative fashions.
