silver lining
-Pat Owens-
Every room she enters blinds the eyes that stand within
And everytime she says "goodbye" you hope she'll be back again
If you catch her smiling, for an instant you forget about your pain
If you haven't seen her for a while she won't forget your name
She can sing every word to your favorite song
And the words she doesn't know she just makes up
Her intentions are always honest, only sometimes are they good
She'd impress you with her beauty if she only thought she could
She can find a silver lining in the darkest of clouds
And create another moment when time has just run out
When a dream seems out of reach she will help extend your hand
And when no one else can find a way somehow she can
She can open any doorway when she thinks a childish thought
And she complains about the roses that she thinks you should have bought
No occasion or no purpose should be considered at the time
Just the act, out of sincerity, is the lesson she implies
If you think that she belongs to you she'll show you otherwise
If you pretend you never cared at all she'll prove it's just a lie
If you get the chance to talk to her and you let it slip away
You'll regret that you ever saw her because it just ruined your day
