BIOGRAPHY

The first song I ever learned was "On Top of Spaghetti," taught to me by my oldest brother on his guitar when I was ten years old. What can I say? With just three chords and the truth, I was hooked. That early spark led me from church choirs and after-school lessons to the Vocal Ensemble at Glen Burnie High School and becoming a member of the Modern Music Masters Honor Society.

In 2001, while completing my Business Degree from the University of Baltimore, I traded the classroom for the stage and began playing in small clubs and restaurants in the Baltimore area. What began as a solo venture soon evolved into a high-energy partnership with a Latin percussionist- a pivotal time where I polished my sound and built the foundation for my career today.

Over the years, I've expanded my repertoire and performed hundreds of shows at a variety of restaurants, bars, weddings, festivals and private events. In 2005 I recorded and released some original music (available on iTunes), but the majority of my shows include mostly cover material these days. I thrive on the energy of a live crowd and love taking requests! My sets are a deep dive into the genres that shaped me, ranging from classic rock and country to modern hits.

Presently, you can catch me performing solo shows primarily in the Mid-Atlantic area. I'm also part of an acoustic duo called The Solution featuring percussionist/vocalist Mike Needer, and more recently I've teamed up with guitarist/vocalist Rod Sebastian in our duo Rod & Real, which performs a mix of roots rock and modern country. Mike, Rod and I also perform as an electric trio called No Off Switch (or N.O.S. ~ Needer, Owens & Sebastian). We perform country and rock covers while trading vocals throughout the show.

My set list has grown a lot since "On Top of Spaghetti," but my goal remains the same: good music and a great time. I look forward to seeing you at a show soon - feel free to drop a line for booking or just to say hello.
